Berlin sits right in the middle of central Connecticut — a quiet town with a lot of residents who carry UnitedHealthcare Navigate plans through their employers or through the individual marketplace. Navigate is one of the more cost-conscious UHC products, and it still covers in-network psychiatric care. Elite Health LLC is in-network with UHC Navigate, as well as Choice, Choice Plus, Oxford Health Plans, and UHC Community Plan. Sindhia Shyras, APRN — board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, 9+ years of experience — is accepting new Berlin patients now. No referral required under most UHC plans.
Navigate is UnitedHealthcare's more network-focused plan product — it's designed to steer members toward in-network providers, which makes it especially important that your psychiatrist is actually in-network. Elite Health is. And because we're in-network with Navigate, your psychiatric evaluation and medication management visits are billed at the plan's negotiated rate. Specialist copays under Navigate typically fall in the $20–$50 range, though your specific cost-sharing depends on your plan tier. You can verify your benefits at myuhc.com before your first appointment — or call us at 860-515-8689 and we can help you check.
Sindhia treats depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorder, insomnia, and mood disorders. Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation — a real conversation, not a checklist. She looks at your symptoms, your history, your sleep, your daily functioning, and what you've already tried. From that, she puts together a care plan: medication management, supportive therapy, or both. Follow-up visits keep things adjusted over time. If something isn't working the way it should, she changes it. Berlin residents are seen via telehealth — UHC covers telehealth psychiatry for all Connecticut members, often at in-person parity rates.
UHC Navigate plans sometimes require prior authorization for ongoing medication management. That's a normal part of working with this plan product — and it's something the practice manages on your behalf. Sindhia's team submits the prior auth request; you don't have to navigate UHC's phone tree to get it sorted. If your deductible hasn't been met and you're concerned about upfront costs, self-pay rates are available as a bridge. The point is to get you started, not to let logistics hold things up.
